4 Stages of Eclampsia

Ever heard of eclampsia? It's a life threatening problem which can appear during pregnancy called pregnancy eclampsia while other forms of the problems are known by different names like pre eclampsia or post eclampsia etc. Although this is not a very common disease, yet if you see any of the following symptoms in a pregnant women then it is a matter of concern. Not essentially only in pregnant women but also after pregnancy ,eclampsia may show up. In fact experts believe that in pregnnat women it happens once 20 weeks of pregnancy is completed. Generally the symptoms rea overlooked by the family and friends because only fits are the way to recognise that the patient is sufefring from eclampsia.

1) First stage is often overlooked if we are not aware that the patient is actually suffering from eclampsia. In this stage, various parts of the body like arms etc becomes very rigid and the patient starts tightening the teeths.


2) Stage second is accompanied by short of breath for sometimes.And even the muscles of arms and legs will start tightening.


3) Third stage is really dangerous if the symptoms are not controlled immediately and includes jerking of muscles. It alos leads to the appearance of froth with blood from mouth. Consequently it may lead to the failure of heart or evne coma.


4) If patient does not succumb to death she might go in to the state of unconciouness which might be momentary or for longer duration.
